Skeletron the Rope Climbing Robot

Skeletron is a wonder of engineering and Champion of the robot Olympic Games. How high will she climb and what antics will she get up to on her first visit to Dunfermline?
This cool looking humanoid robot - and her creator - will need some encouragement from you so come along and make sure she gets to the top of the rope.
On 6 September join Skelly as she and her Skellybuggy move west to the Wacky Races at the Louise Carnegie Gates, join the cavalcade from Kingsgate to Glen Gate!

Cyberneering

Meet Roland, the gentle robotic alien, who will welcome you to the world of Cyberneering with a tender handshake. In "Sensing with Light", come and play with light in a way that only engineering optics allow.
Here's a question - "When is a liquid not a liquid?" Come and see how different materials mix, or not (!) in "Mixing it Up". There will also be a variety of hands-on workshops throughout the day.

This workshop explores the use of science to change the genes of living things, a process called genetic modification (GM). Where should we draw the line for GM? Would you be happy using a GM medicine, eating GM food or even owning a GM pet?

Come and see learning technologies in action at 7 New Row. The College's technology team will be on hand to demonstrate new technologies available to learners in Carnegie College and explain how these are used to deliver learning in the 21st Century. Members of the public, young and old, will be encouraged to try these out for themselves, and think about how learning is made available thanks to the power of the web. Participants are also invited to bring along their own mobile devices, and
try out some of our learning materials for themselves.

The Wacky Races

Local high school pupils and college students will battle it out in the very first Carnegie festival 'Wacky Races'. Building their own 'performance kit cars' throughout the week at Carnegie College, they will be brought to life through track testing of model kit cars in a Wacky Race, along with a cavalcade of high performance vehicles and trucks in The Glen.
Come along and meet Skelly in the park, see a live demonstration of the Lochgelly High School F1 World Championship car and for smaller children have a go at some miniature 'robot wars'. It promises to be a lively day!
