The Carnegie Festival has secured a very special screening of the long awaited release of "The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas" as the opening gala film at this year's festival.
Adapted from John Boyne's critically-acclaimed best-selling novel, "The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas" is an unforgettable story seen through the innocent eyes of Bruno, the eight year old son of the Kommandant at a concentration camp, who strikes up a strong friendship with a little boy on the other side of the fence in the forbidden place. Screen Academy Showcase
The Screen Academy Showcase will provide insight into the work of leading young film-makers. The show reel of award-winning animation, drama and documentary shorts - directed by students from The Screen Academy at Edinburgh's Napier University and screened at international film festivals - will provide the prism for analysis by students at Carnegie College. Special screenings in the Fletcher Studio in Mediaspace will enable HNC and HND students in interactive multi-media creation, photography, acting and performance to critique the works from artistic, performance and technical perspectives. The show reel will also be rolled out later in the academic year for students in digital media computing and the dramatic arts.
